Narrative Lead

"A frog the size of a bowling ball, with heavy armor and teeth, lived among dinosaurs millions of years ago - intimidating enough that scientists who unearthed its fossils dubbed the beast Beelzebufo, or Devil Toad"

The writer here used a narrative lead, because the best way to catch the reader's attention is by describing the frog and how it is referred to as a "Devil Toad". No one really cares if new fossils are found, because all different types of fossils are found each day, as well as new discoveries. Using a narrative lead gives the story more interest.

Nut graf: (second paragraph)
" Researchers discovered the creature's bones in Madagascar, yet it seems to be a close relative of normal-size frogs that today live half a world away in South America, challenging assumptions about ancient geography."

Response to Interview

I read Enrico's post about his interview with me, and I thought it was great. When I first read it I had no idea who he was talking about- Star Candy. I liked the twist he used in making the reader think Star Candy was my name, but later on said that it was my answer to one of the questions he asked me. He covered everything from the interview and I liked the way he used the quotes. It was very creative and accurate. Overall I am very pleased with the way it came out.  =)

A little about myself...

To start off, my name is Stephanie (prefer Steph) and this is my second year at Skyline College. I decided to take Journalism 120 because I enjoy writing and wanted to explore different aspects of writing. I have yet to decide my major and I have no idea what kind of career I'm even leaning towards, but hopefully by taking this class I can get a better idea if I want to puruse writing further.

When I'm not at school or studying I am working. I work for a property managment company in Brisbane and I love it, even though it gets boring sometimes. During the week I also pick up my younger cousins from school and watch them for a few hours and help them with their homework, along with taking them to their sports practices. It almost feels like I'm a mom, haha.

Besides school and work I always try to spend time with my friends and family.
